Hot Springs Metro Partnership Welcomes Gary Jackson as Workforce & Economic Development Manager 

Veteran educator brings 35 years of experience to strengthen workforce development, support local businesses, and advance economic growth in Hot Springs.

(Hot Springs, AR) Jan. 9, 2023 – The Hot Springs Metro Partnership announced the addition of Gary Jackson as workforce and economic manager. 

In this role, Jackson will work primarily with local school districts to help students find the right fit for employment or education and training when graduating high school in order to meet the needs of both the students and local business and industry. He will also provide staff support to volunteer committees and task forces in the successful implementation of annual strategic plans for workforce development, existing business retention and expansion, entrepreneurial development, marketing, and research.  

“I look forward to working with the business and industry leaders in our community by providing support and assistance for them and their employees, and by helping to create opportunity for continued growth in the region,” Jackson said. “As the need for workforce continues to be a pressing issue, I am excited to use my skills in education to help further the community growth of Hot Springs. The Metro Partnership has a great team focused on the success of everyone in this area and I am honored to be a part of it.”  

Jackson will also work with existing businesses and industry to maintain a database of pertinent information that can facilitate assistance in helping Hot Springs region employers in achieving their growth goals. 

He has 35 years of experience in education, having most recently served as the Principal of Academies at West Memphis School District. He will use his skills to help educate and train a ready workforce for the Greater Hot Springs area. 

A native of Hot Springs, Jackson is a graduate of Hot Springs High School. In his leisure time, he loves golfing and spending time with his family. 

The mission of the Hot Springs Metro Partnership is to create economic opportunity by retaining, expanding, and attracting higher paying jobs, expanding and diversifying our local economy, increasing incomes and investment, and generating positive growth throughout the Hot Springs Region.
