Hot Springs, Ark. – Draft Day Hot Springs 2024 was a resounding success, bringing together more than 1,400 students from all seven Garland County school districts along with 13 additional schools from across Arkansas. Hosted over two days at the Lake Hamilton Wolf Arena, the career fair and hiring event gave students the chance to network, interview, and in many cases, secure job offers with 53 local and state businesses.

The annual event is designed to prepare students for the workforce, showcase career opportunities available in Hot Springs and the surrounding area, and encourage the next generation of leaders to consider building their futures close to home.

“Draft Day is about more than just interviews—it’s about opening doors,” said Gary Troutman, President and CEO of the Hot Springs Chamber of Commerce and Hot Springs Metro Partnership. “Seeing students walk out of the arena with job offers in hand reminds us why this event matters. We are building pathways that keep our talented young people right here in Hot Springs.”

Special thanks were extended to Amanda Porter and the Lake Hamilton School District team for their leadership and coordination, ensuring the event ran smoothly and effectively.

The event also featured meals provided by local favorites Joe Johnson of Smokin’ In Style and Jose Soto of Jose’s Mexican Grill & Cantina, who catered food for attendees and employers both days.

Lake Hamilton School District, a key event partner, also emphasized the importance of connecting students with real-world opportunities. “We’re thrilled to provide this platform for students to plan their future careers and connect with leaders in our community,” said [Insert LHSD spokesperson’s name if you want to attribute a real quote]. “This event empowers our students to see firsthand the opportunities available to them right here in Hot Springs.”

Draft Day Hot Springs continues to grow each year, serving as a model for how schools, employers, and the community can work together to build a strong, sustainable workforce pipeline.
